Greater Manchester partnership event drives forward real change

The question of how we can work together to harness the power of the primary & community estate to support the agenda of integration and drive improvements in health outcomes for local communities, was central to an event hosted by gbpartnerships in Eccles earlier this month on behalf of the two local LIFT Companies: MaST Estates Partnership and Bury, Tameside and Glossop Estates Partnership.

Rarely does an event galvanise such a shared commitment to action and a desire to drive real change, with partners - Community Health Partnerships, the local LIFT Companies and gbpartnerships - working together to ensure that the primary & community estate across the Greater Manchester area is fit for the next 20 years.

This short video (below) provides a flavour of the vigorous and challenging discussions at the event chaired by Lord Keith Bradley, with keynote speech delivered by Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester. Charlotte Douglass - MaST and BTG Board member - responded to the challenges Andy put forward for the development of a truly integrated ‘live well service’ across Greater Manchester and the role that the primary and community estate has in increasing access for communities to a universal service.

Joining the lively panel discussion with challenges from the floor, were CHP’s Chief Executive Wendy Farrington-Chadd and gbpartnerships’ Chief Executive, Elaine Siew.
